Parador
On Facebook, one of the first pieces of advice I received about Toledo, when I started posting photos from here, was that the best view of the city was to be had from the Parador. With the dodgy weather we've had, this morning looked like the best option for heading over there, and indeed it was. The light is a bit stark on this photograph, but it's the best I can do. Perhaps another time we could stay there, and enjoy sunrise or sunset...
Anyway, we had a lovely morning, what with the bus trip, and - when we got back to the city - a trip up one of the sets of escalators which the city has made available for transporting people up the steep hills into the old town. This left us in a part of the old town which we had not previously visited, and which struck us as rather more attractive than some of the other more touristy parts. We finished the morning off with lunch in an excellent Middle Eastern restaurant (where we had dinner a few nights ago), a quick gawk at the burial of Count Orgaz, and finally a glass of wine in a bar, before heading back to the hotel.
Today should be 3 Kings here - but there doesn't seem to be too much happening around here. All is quiet. Just heading out and wondering whether we'll get to see anything.
