Christmas Books

Really pleased with my selection of Books that I received for Christmas. Books are always at the top of my list and there's normally a few that I would like.
'On a Rising tide' by Charlie Philips is a great book full of wonderul photos of the dolphins in the Moray Firth, many taken from Chanonry point. Looking forward to reading it and hearing Charlies stories and encounters.
'Oliver H , wildlife and Landscape photographer', contains amazing photos taken by a young man with Down Syndrome. He has a natural eye and takes photos of the world around him including some fantastic shots of birds including swans.
'Owls' by artist Matt Sewell is one in a series of colourful illustrations of birds and in this case Owls with information about 'our most enchanting bird'.
'The Living Mountain' by Nan Shepherd. I heard about this book during the talk by Colin Prior who has been inspired by this book to 'embark on a four year project, which will explore my own relationship with mountains through images and words.' he says.
An interesting book of Nans journeys into the Cairngorm mountains. Think a visit will be in order again after reading this.
The last book, 'My Highland Workshop' by blips very own Baron. A great read about Neil 's job in the Highlands making a challenge of providing television signals to the remoteness and Mountainous locations in Scotland. Some funny stories and photographs of some of the remotest areas of Scotland including Barons now famous beach shots.

Just to let you know Baron is fine, all's good and he's keeping very busy but has stopped blipping at the moment.

Good news as well as I won a calendar by Raymond Besant, a wildlife photographer from Orkney. Looking forward to receiving it in the post in the next few days :)
