California Poppies

These dazzling orange poppies adorn a dirt pile as volunteers.

I made an effort to blip them on another occasion, but they had closed up for the evening.

Today I went at 5:30pm to catch them while they were still awake.

Sheesh, I thought it was still early but some of the blossoms packed it in for the day.
