Major John Bradford House, Kingston, Massachusetts.

Standing proudly atop the hill at the corner of Landing Road and Maple Street for nearly 300 years, the Major John Bradford House is a Kingston landmark, and a testament to the importance of historical preservation. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and is the oldest home in America built by a descendant of Pilgrim Governor William Bradford. For a quarter of a century, it was the repository for Governor Bradford's priceless manuscript, Of Plimouth Plantation.

The Major John Bradford House was built by John Bradford in 1714 as a home for his bride, Mercy Warren, and it was there that they made their home and raised their large family. Household furnishings, tools, fireplaces, pottery and other artifacts of the era, including children's toys and dolls, are on display. Complimentary tours of the home and its period garden are offered throughout the season, each Sunday morning during the months of July and August.
