'The Monument'
Backblip.
We packed up and left our cabin in Richmond this morning and drove into Hobart to pick up a few self inflating air mattresses for sleeping in the tents as the single blow up mattresses were too small to have two people sleeping on them and luckily the boxing day sales were still on giving a 60% discount on them.
Drove down to Kettering and caught the ferry over to Bruny Island for the day. I had booked us a South Bruny Island Wilderness tour on advice from our fellow Scottish blipper Sleepyhead. Drove down to Adventure Bay on South Bruny Island and checked in for the tour. This was a fantastic afternoon on the Tasman Sea travelling down the East Coast of South Bruny Island. We saw all sorts of rocks, caves, animals and the famous Jurassic Dolerite cliffs. This shot is of the Monument which the boat passes through it and the island. We travelled all the way down into the Great Southern Ocean to see the seals down at 'The Friars'. Saw some dolphins on the way back up the coast and the migrating mutton birds who fly down from Alaska every year.
A must do if you're ever down this way.
