Trains No More
This one storey building was originally a workshop and store house for Haddington railway station. Opened in 1846, this branch line connected the East Lothian town of Haddington with the east coast mainline at Longniddry. Owing to competition from road transport, passenger services were withdrawn in 1949. Goods traffic continued until 1968 when the line closed completely. Today the site of the station and goods yard is occupied by an industrial Park. Only the building pictured (now music rehearsal studios called "The Lamp House") and a length of platform survive. Whilst there is a campaign to re-open the line exists, its success is unlikely.
