New year, new me
I have always thought that new year's resolutions are a bit silly, as I always forget what they are or give up on them within a couple of days. However, I have been thinking lately about a few changes I want to make to my life and how to feel better about myself, and the start of a new year seems like a great reason to get going with them now. Hopefully making a list now will help me to remember them:
- Go walking more. Make sure I do my month of munro climbing that I've been planning for ages, as well as a few before and after. Let friends know my plans and get lots of people involved to have a great time.
- Don't stress too much about the future. Whether I start a PhD, a masters, or just take a year out next year doesn't matter. Be happy with what happens and make sure I am not forcing myself to do anything I don't want to just because I feel like I should be progressing at a certain rate.
- Be happier with my university work. Accept that I'm going to end up with a high 2.1 and not a first, and don't let it make me feel stupid or not as good as other people. I can only try my hardest, and I'm still doing pretty well.
- Spend less time on facebook. I have removed the app from my phone and already only try and look at it once a day now. Spend the time either off my phone doing fun things or (if I'm in a phone mood), go on duolingo and learn Spanish instead.
- Keep in touch with Gina with letters, and make sure to put in the effort to meet up with friends outside of university more often.
- Eat less meat. Always something that I try and do but not something that has happened yet.
- Keep going to the gym. Two weeks in and it's going well, but I'll need more motivation once I get back to university. Remember how much happier I feel after exercise and how much easier it will be to climb all the munros in summer!
- Finally, keep blipping! With a reminder for anyone reading this to donate if they can to keep it running
Happy 2016 everyone :)
