Quod oculus meus videt

Worth the Walk

Walking up the stairs at the offices just before lunch and I realised the mist and fog were still hanging on in the countryside nearby.  It was enough to tempt me into the car and a short walk around the exotically named, Hungary Hill Farm.

I've always liked the combination of tree and gate at the bottom of this field and have often tried various compositions.  This time the baled straw gave an extra bit of foreground interest and the sun and sky burning through the cloud also helped.

Technical:  This needed quite a bit of filtration for the sky, 3 stops in fact. I also had to do some work back in Lightroom with shadows and highlights to balance the exposure.  A slight vignette helps frame the scene.
