Building beyond the gates is the underground Botanic Gardens Station on the old Caley line north from Partick. It closed in 1939 and the line closed in 1964 but the old platforms, tunnels and trackbed survive intact oozing memories of the dark and smoky atmospheric environment of the place
Plans for a nightclub/restaurant seem to have fallen through, no pun intended!
