Epiphany

Today was Three Kings Day which is a bank holiday in all cantons around me, but not in Zurich. Traditionally we eat a special cake which consist of usually 6 to 8 pieces and in one of them a porcelain/plastic figure is hidden. The person who eats the bun with the figure can wear the crown and is king for the day. So we had several of those cakes in the office. They not only look tasty in the morning light but in fact are.

Good run at lunch time and delightful, well deserved supper at Bianchi with P.

Some more background to Epiphany you can find on the Office holidays website:

"Epiphany is one of three major Christian celebrations along with Christmas and Easter.

It is always celebrated on 6 January and commemorates the presentation of the infant Jesus to the Magi, or three wise men. In some countries, it may be known as 'Three Kings Day'."
