Lunch
The day before we all came back to work after the break, my colleague, Steve, told me he found a new place to eat and get coffee in Kendal that was good. The sad truth is that that is big news around these parts; Kendal is terribly lacking in some respects. What was even more surprising was that this new place was at K Village, the white elephant that lies next to the river on the east side of town.
Steve and I went there for a coffee, this morning, and it was every bit as good as he said (although his initial recommendation did reference Barcelona and I couldn't hope but notice the lack of sunshine). On the way out I grabbed a take-away menu and at lunchtime Steve phoned through our orders and went to pick up the food.
This represents a bit of a game-changer for our office. Typically, we head to Asda at lunchtime but now - for pretty much the same spend - we can get freshly prepared food. Hooray! I had the chicken caesar salad (without croutons, of course) and it was superb.
