Fruits and Vegetables
My shopping today at the garden shop was quite fruit full so to speak, also veggie full. Here is whats on the table:
2 pkgs Swiss chard, 1 pkg spring onions, 4 peppers, pkg of grapes, bag of oranges, apples, nectarines and apricots. There is also; cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, egg plant summer squash, beets, red potatoes, white potatoes, onions, a large red onion, corgets (zucchini), 2 pkgs lettuce, bean sprouts, 2 pkgs mushrooms, alfalfa, 3 avocadoes, and 3 green bananas.
That will feed four of us for about a week and a half as we are all trying to stay away from as much processed food as possible. The price, 160 Israeli shekels or $40.75 and in Pounds Sterling, 26.20. I am absolutely amazed. Of course, we do eat other stuff like tuna, sardines, eggs, cottage cheese, chicken and chicken livers among the other essentials for which we spend probably twice that again. But the vegetables are the staple.
Just thought you would like to know the cost of living, food wise and if anyone wants, they can tell me what it cost in your country for the same.
Blessings on the day to all.
