Packaging:

I think we all have had a gripe about packing small items in large boxes surrounded with crumpled up paper or tasteless chewy quavers (the Amazon effect), but sometimes it is to protect the contents in the ‘post’.  This bit of packaging is straight from the manufacturer and just takes up four times the space needed on the storage/display shelves.
 
The actual content was in the white and blue box which has been pulled out a couple of inches (5 cm in new money), and was a kitchen tap, not known to be fragile in transit.
