Anxieties Rising

Water, absolutely everywhere, from coast to glen. So many folk affected right now and even in our own wee patch tonight, it's now flooding our back, fuelled from the huge new lake in the forest formed from water streaming down from Beauty Hill. And onwards it spreads and streams through our neighbours gardens and has burst the stream beside the cottages, it's all rising and flowing very fast. The road is blocked to the village on the west brae and yet it still comes from the skies. We'll be keeping a check tonight, wellies on, torches oot. Fuelled by tea (me) and a dram (Dave) l.

And now snow is coming. The council, police and fire crews and hardy volunteers must be beyond breaking point. So too the householders now homeless or under severe threat. Downside and Deeside have not seen the likes for, well, a long, long time, we hear past memories of muckle spates of old have been surpassed.

I heard a strange animal call from the forest too, poor beasties and farm stock across the north east.
