Another walk

We walked around the almost frozen Mill Pond in Vernonia. John, Ben and I drove there to have a hamburger for lunch; Ben's wish before he returns to Alaska. In the summer the air is filled with Red-wing Blackbird calls here. Today only various ducks were in the open water in the middle of the pond, and a Bald Eagle we spotted high up in a fir tree.
The main photo is of this typical Western Oregon thicket surrounding the lake. The extras are of the Eagle, and a Rosehip to honor my mother's 90th birthday today. She died when I was 17, I miss her still.
