Harmony
My walk home through Manchester city centre last night. Thought the cranes looked like two Spring shoots! Manchester never stops rebuilding or evolving. It's an incredible place.
This week has been crazy. Non-stop.
But I'm loving it. I love my work. And am thrilled to be working on so many exciting projects and new clients - great feelings for the year ahead for my company.
Have tried to keep the home/work balance as best I can and this week hasn't been too bad. I've had some alone time with Squidge and got home to bath her and put her to bed twice by myself. Angus and I have been trailing a new arrangement which sees him taking on most of the childcare and cooking at home. And so far (finger's crossed) it seems to be working.
We had so many rows last year about who was doing what but with Angus working less (this month anyway), harmony has rung out as it's clear where the roles have to lie.
Don't get me wrong, there are times when I wish it didn't have to be this way and that our gender roles were more typical. I miss being at home, cooking and the family aspect. But it's the hand we've been dealt and we have to make the best of it.
Off to London today for work. Sun is shining and I have a weekend with some friends to look forward to. Feeling good.
