Lapwing by the Loch

It was cold but with no rain or wind the conditions were good for a walk round the loch. The path had been gritted so no danger of slipping. I wasn't sure if the lapwings would be there today but I wasn't disappointed. As I walked down the far side of the loch, nearing one one their favoured spots, I could see the wee heads of the lapwings just sticking up above the grass. They tend to keep down on the low rocks hoping to keep out of sight.
