Tiny Boys in VIkingland

We drove to Trelleborg this morning as I thought the old Viking Fortress would look really pretty with the snow. It turned out that they don't have much snow in that area!!! It is only 35 mins drive from here and we have lots of snow.

It was a lovely walk - even without the snow.

Trelleborg is a circular fort, built by the Vikings in the Viking Age. It excavated in the years 1936-1941. Traditionally, the name Trelleborg has been translated to 'a fortress built by slaves', since the Old Norse word for slave was thrall (The modern Danish word is træl) and borg means fortress or city.

This is the boys posing in front of the reconstructed longhouse at Trelleborg. They look tiny next to the big viking house.

Much more info about Trelleborg on Wikipedia.

After our walk, I drove to Maxi Zoo in Slagelse. They had dog food on sale, so I got 3 bags of food for half  the normal price. Brilliant!

Next stop was at Erik and Ingelise's to drop off a dog coat for their Border Collie Mac. I had a really nice coat for Whisper and I've kept it in the hope that one of my other collies could use it, but none of them are as big as Whisper was and Gollum won't be either. Hopefully it will fit Mac. It is a shame that no one uses it.

We finished with a walk in the woods here in Sorø.

Happy weekend
