School prom

It now seems a right of passage for every teenager to have a 'leavers' school prom.
It still slightly jars me. And sorry to my friends and fellow blippers 'across the pond' but it seems awfully American and not very English.
The parents feel pressured to spend a lot of money on elaborate dresses, hair, nails, spray tans , shoes and transportation, and it's all very competitive.

The one good thing, as a fellow colleague said last night, it gives the girls that 'fairytale' of wearing the big, fluffy, frilly, dress and they have that dream rather than rushing into a wedding - in order to wear the dress.

I would love to show you the 'fluff' on offer but it would not be appropriate without consent from all the parents.

So instead make do with the brash and bling of the place at which it was held.
