Knowle Farm, Lichfield

I've always liked the small knoll and trees above this farm.  You can see it clearly from at least three different vantage points but I've never previously stopped to take a photograph.

The similarity between the name of the farm and the topographical feature got me thinking and sure enough they are linked and the name Knowle is derived from knoll.  I found this out on a site called 'The internet Surname Database".  That got me thinking about my surname and it was interesting to read the background to that as well.
