Cold Weather

We awoke to a still day that somehow just looked cold. There is a sort of paleness in the light as the weather gets colder. I checked the thermometer, minus 23°C. That’s cold, not spectacularly cold but pretty chilly.
(Blippers 300 km north of here, and in Finland, have reported temperatures under -30° C - that really is cold!)
We dressed in layers, with one more layer than yesterday, and went off for our walk. The air is very dry, and with no wind and the sun shining it felt fine, though we took it easy going up the hill because breathing deeply didn’t feel too good.
The new snow makes the world very beautiful and there is more on the way!
