Roma Day #4
This morning, we caught the train to Circus Maximus
We went to Palatina
I got told off in St Anastasia's Church for taking a photo, but oh well!
We went to St Maria in Cosmadin Church, where the Mouth of Truth is. It felt a bit soulless, but had a good bell tower
We walked through Isola and into St Bartholomew's Church
We walked along the riverside (where I took this shot)
It was a bit smelly (I don't want to think about it!) but was pretty!
Back to the ARea Sacra (with all the stray cats)
Lunch at the Pantheon
We discovered a French area - a bookshop and the Church of St Louis des francais
Went to Piazza Navona with its beautiful fountains and delicious gelato
Walked through Campo di Fiori marketplace to PIlazzo Farnese - the French Embassy. Lots of armed forces around here.
We went back to St Louis and saw a painting of St Matthew's conversion.
Home via the Trevi Fountain.
More gelato (when in Rome ...)
Back to the Church of Maria of the Angels and Martyrs to hear the Archdiocesan Detroit Chorus - quite lovely.
And so ends our trip to Roma!
Night all.
