At the Park
Be still and quiet
Let the hummingbirds come to
you so you can blip!

It was just a short stroll in West Wetlands Park late this afternoon. In just moments sitting on a bench, the hummers arrived. These are Costa's and they are in their winter breeding range at the moment. The males have the lovely purple throat and cap. When I finished looking up I looked down to see a pocket gopher sticking his head out and venturing for some food in close range of the tunnel. We'd had a surprising amount of rainfall for the Sonoran Desert just this week. That should perk things up a bit.
