Humanity

The quality or state of being human. The quality or state of being kind to other people. Blip friends know that I've developed a relationship with Paul over the last several years. I spotted him on the street today and stopped to say hi.  Paul is an extremely kind soul and generally has a story to tell me of some adventure he's recently had.  Today he talked about "spinning the wheel" at the shelter and how he'd won a new winter coat because his number came up.  "I was the winner and now I'm warm!" he said.  I was happy Paul had a new jacket and equally baffled by the fate of the spinning wheel that somehow determined whether this kind man would have a new coat or not. How did it ever come to this?
