Pride and joy
You may think me a trifle 'sad' as they say round here, or a 'sicko' in Oz, but I have expended a lot of time and energy on this and am quite proud of the results.
This area of the vegetable garden was under some old decking, which I removed. Beneath that I discovered (expletive deleted!) was buried loads of building rubble, concrete and a layer of sandstone.
I dug it all out this autumn, down to a depth of about three feet all over - shifting and sifting through literally tons of stuff. It was backbreaking work.
The compost box is where we recycle all our garden waste and vegetable waste from the kitchen, returning it, when well rotted into the veggie plot.
Dig in some commercially produced bagfuls of compost from the garden centre - and here is a rehabilitated vegetable bed, ready to go into full production this year.
I am looking forward to the product of all the hard graft and the fruits of my considerable labours.
I enjoy it actually, and treat the work as part of my keep-fit regime together with my gymn sessions in the Kimberley Leisure Centre.
Neither the most exciting nor dramatic picture on blip, but there you are!!
