Falling Foss

Always worth a visit after heavy rain. Falling some
30 metres into a pool of reddish stones, stained
over the centuries from the iron ore under this
moorland terrain, Falling Foss enjoys a fairytale
woodland setting. Its ambience is enhanced by
the old Gamekeepers Cottage built in 1780 known as
Midge Hall and now a tea garden.
Just idyllic for morning coffee or light lunch.
Very close to the Littlebeck turn off the
Scarborough to Whitby Road via Ruswarp.
