Tethered

Another hasty blip as the day speeds by. Only one more day  before the family head back to Germany and we are trying to squeeze in as much as we can.

This is a flax just outside the dining room window. It is a variegated flax and the flowers are this lovely golden/orange colour. The tuis love this one and can often be seen on it - less than a metre away  but on the other side of the glass.

Every time I see them here, I run for the camera but the birds have always gone by the time I get back. I should just give up and enjoy them.
