Riding through the Trees

Today the walking group drove to Alexandra and walked from there upstream on the true right of the Clutha River.  It was exceedingly HOT! About +29C.  The other walking group was there too, so there were about 40 walkers on the track.  I got this pic of a guy who rode past me on the pretty flat track.  It was 12 k's all up, the morning was in the shade, the afternoon was in the hot sun!

When I got to the cafe, I almost fainted with heat exhaustion, but after 5 cups of tea and a cold press around my neck recovered remarkably well. We stopped at a road side stall to buy fresh fruit on the way home.  Yum.

I think I'll put my feet up now.
