Old Shanghai, New Shanghai

Contrasting styles of buildings in Shanghai.

Having seen it on TV in previous years I had thought the tower would be a focus for a New Year light show and fireworks. However, I was later reminded that last year there was a deadly stampede on The Bund, the riverside promenade view point. 

No noticeable New Year's celebrations, therefore, and a relaxing start to 2016 with a stroll in the sunshine.
