Memories

This wasn't going to be my blip for today; a bad picture of a 44 year old TV broadcast.
But of course it had to be. If blip is about memories, then the fit is perfect.

I have numerous memories from childhood onwards anchored by David Bowie's music, and today has brought many flooding back. The earliest probably, when as a 12 year old, I argued with my mum about spending my pocket money on 'Life on Mars'. I was persuaded to buy the Ying Tong Song instead, I still don't know how that happened.
And that seems to be the theme in many of the warm tributes given today. It might seem clichéd, but he did provide the soundtrack for us 60s babies as we grew up.
I was never a Bowie fanatic, I never saw him perform live, nor had posters of him on my wall. Nevertheless, of the twelve albums of his that I own, some would certainly be on my desert island.
Today's news I've found more upsetting than I'd have thought, but I think I'm far from alone with that.
