Muvver's Ruin.....

For a while the (Hydroapthic )movement, in the form of large curative institutions known as the ‘hydros’, flourished, thanks in no small measure to the commitment to temperance within its therapeutic regime. But it was to mutate, with cure downgraded, and temperance abandoned, at the majority of hydros which became instead centres for good company and cuisine, amusement and exercise.
