Easter Road
With the AGM coming up and the furore surrounding the lack of blippable Cigs causing the share price to fluctuate wildly, the last thing we needed was a commercial flop on our hands.
To be fair the marketing team did their bit; all over Trip Advisor, a high profile social media campaign; leaflets on the High Street to tourists, but ultimately the great British weather did for it more than anything. In the summer I can see the open top bus, swanning about down Leith Walk, past Shrubhill, on down Bonnington Road and around Leith Links before coming back up Easter Road and onto Abbey Hill and New Street / Calton Road.
The route is good, but an open top bus with an air temperature of 1 degree? Catastrophic decision. Trading was suspended briefly but although its resumed again the share price has continued to drop.
I think its fair to say the first Cigstour will not have Lord Sugar reaching for the phone to do a deal.
