Tiny Tuesday: China Teacup
This tiny bone china cup and saucer - only about an inch high - go back to the very early days of my career at the BBC. It was December 1978 when I spotted them in a shop while visiting the family of my longest-standing BBC friend (also called Jane) in Honiton, Devon. These miniature pieces used to be made in England between 1960 and 1980 by the Coalport china company, which was established in 1750. I bought this little cup and saucer as a gift for Mum, who has always loved and collected Willow Pattern, and she has kept them safely in her display cabinet all these years.
