The Ice Cream Cake
We celebrated my youngest daughter's birthday today with a homemade (by me, of course) good ole' Sunday brunch. The birthday girl had requested a menu of French toast, scrapple and scrambled eggs, which I lovingly prepared and served with coffee and non-alcoholic mimosas.
The pièce de résistance, however, was this chocolate and vanilla ice cream cake which I had picked up at the local dairy (cows are not treated with rBST injections there...yay!). The cake was prepared and minimally decorated by someone at the dairy but I spruced it up a bit with colorful orange writing and, of course, glittery pink sprinkles. Can't have a birthday celebration at my house without lots of glitter, confetti and sprinkles!
Ice-cream cake, ice-cream cake
I could eat it all day from the minute I wake
I wouldn't miss peas or carrots or grapes
If I could eat loads of ice cream cake.
Ice-cream cake, ice-cream cake
I could eat it all day, plate after plate
I wouldn't miss apples or tuna paste
If I could eat loads of ice-cream cake.
