Don't forget your pearls....

..when icing a cake!
I found this little book today while I was sorting through a large bookcase. It belonged to my mother, who was an excellent cook, but not really given to elaborate icings on her delicious cakes! Perhaps she thought she'd have a try at piping!
Apart from her cookbooks, she left a collection of bits and pieces, recipes copied out, cut out from magazines etc. Amongst these are a few written in my grandmother's handwriting!
Perhaps I should put them together in a little booklet for my children, grandchildren and nieces - cooking down the generations!
