Did it Crash?

I was surprised ( yes) to wake to rain this morning as we were promised a hard frost. It turned out that there had been a frost as the windscreens were frozen but in terms of seeing a bright crisp morning it was a big disappointment!

Still within half an hour the rain had stopped and there were signs of a sun rise.

Here you can see the sun highlighting a contrail in quite a spectacular fashion. This was spotted from the kitchen door on the gable of our house, so,for a good view, I had to go upstairs and lean out of the back bedroom window!
A bonus was the crow (I think) on the chimney!
