Tree and man
His father died before his children were born and, after a little thought, he planted a tree a little way apart from the others in the orchard and they called it “Grandad’s Tree”. As the kids grew up, they would visit the tree on birthdays or to celebrate things – first steps, new schools, graduation… Whilst they were young, the children confused the tree and the man and the tree came to be known as “Grandad”.
When he in turn died, his children planted a second tree next to “Grandad”.
