rain .. it pours in this particular window down the wall, the wood starts to swell up so that i cant actually open - or if open, close - the window.
i spent most of yesterday today faffing about with sheets of polythene to rig up protection to let the wood dry.
i had to use a hammer and chisel to open the window again which, sigh of relief, i managed. i cant sand the window sill down and repaint till dry.
even re-sanding, re-painting each summer doesnt fix it.
another annoying thing - my window boxes have space at the bottom for water - great for very dry summers - hopeless for this wet one. the plants are too wet, going yellow-brown. i will have to find a way to get holes in the sides and get some water out.
