Birthday Cards

 Last evening we went down to dinner as usual and presented my invitation for my "Surprise" we were led to a table made up with candles and flowers and a nice white cloth.  Paola the waiter organised wine for us and the hotel supplied champagne and a birthday cake - so a super evening.
Today we walked into Funchal to see the liners that arrived overnight Thomson Majestic, Saga Sapphire and the Queen Elizabeth so it was busy in town today.  My extra is taken from the quay in front of the liners and looking up to Reids - one of the hotels to stay at.  Last year for my birthday we had afternoon tea there and it was amazing.
We sat in the park for a while and watched the world go by and then caught a bus back to the LIdo and settled on pancakes and ice cream and a glass of wine
