Lumiere London
This evening was the first of four nights of the "Lumiere London" light festival. This consists of a variety of light installations by different international artists, spread over several areas of the capital. I spent around three hours this evening around the Kings Cross area where there is a large concentration of works.
This "birdcage", entitled "(IFO) Identified Flying Object" for the purposes of this festival, is a permanent installation in Battle Bridge Place and houses a swing which is in regular use by visitors of all ages.
It was very crowded tonight and it was quite difficult to get close to, never mind photograph, some of the installations. I don't recall ever seeing so many tripod mounted cameras together in one location: the event seems to have attracted photographers from all over.
I have posted some other images in a flickr album.
