Snow
Yes really. There's flakes of actual snow on her hat. It was snowing much heavier than the picture suggests, though none of it settled where we were. I have seen photographs of places not far away where it definitely had, and saw one snow-mound-car! I wasnt that grateful for the snow, in honesty, as I had to walk to school to collect her and then we had to wait half an hour outside for our lift to ballet. But it was fun for her to watch in school. She also was less grateful for it once she came out of school!
She's had fun today with her friend at school - they're apparently "planning" a trip to London for when they're grown up and can drive there together. Katie's decided she needs to drive so she can put her clarinet in the car. They're "going for maybe 10 weeks, so we can see lots of things. And maybe we need to find friends or our family who we can stay with. But they don't know Gabby. That would be ok though, wouldn't it?" They're thinking very hard about it!
She had fun at class tonight - they're working on their musical theatre and freestyle work for their performance exams in 10 days. They're singing Oom Pa Pa and dancing an awesome pirate freestyle-ballet, inspired by Northern Ballet's Peter Pan, I think as some of the choreography is very similar to what Katie and the teacher's daughter did at their workshop there last Christmas!
We had another break through on the clarinet tonight - she's really got the hang of the tonguing the last two days. Her teacher had told her that she can move on from the first three notes as soon as she's mastered it really securely. Katie rose to the challenge with style tonight, repeating every rhythm I threw at her well and with a wonderful sparkle in her little eyes.
