Codicote Butchers
This looks like a shop where they take a pride in what they do. There was a time, not so long ago, when butchers had a bad reputation. They used all sorts of tricks to make their meat go further and look fresher than it was. It wasn't unheard of to find more rusk than meat in a sausage and food dye was often added to meat to brighten it up.
I would say that the tables have completely turned now and it is the supermarkets that are often up to no good. Don't you just hate it when they tie up scraps of meat to look like a joint of beef that just falls apart when you open the string. They also place the label over the fatty bits of the steak. The horse meat scandal was no surprise to many people.
We always try to make good use of our local butcher. What we buy there is good quality and there is never any waste.
I like the colour of the sky in the background on this shot.
