Site of West Mill on Corfe River
Two photographs for today, the second to show the National Trust's excellent information panel about the Mill's history.
The mill site is close to the road and the little bridge spanning the road heading westwards along the Corfe Valley; you can just see some of the bridge's stonework behind the wooden footbridge.
The river Wicken mentioned on the information panel is nowadays referred to as the Corfe River.
The photo was taken almost into the sun, with a convenient tree trunk shielding the camera from any direct sunlight. This type of photography can produce an image with very high contrast which then needs to be tamed in the editing process. (This is where RAW files best work their magic.)
