Cat Adopting

I went to a shelter for cats and puppies in Petco-- s pet supply store. I had in mind to adopt a 5 year old male cat for Gracie T-t who is stuggling to adapt to being an "Only kitty" upon the death of PD Budd a week ago.
This tabby fit the criteria 5 years old and male. But, he had been abandoned as an only ct and given to the shelter when the family got a poodle. The cat and poodle did not get along so they gave away the cat after 5 years of loyal feline service. Really annoys me. He is still grieving. Also has never lived with another cat and would do better living alonw. So, I have ended up signing up for a different tabby. She is 1 1/2 year old. She's got the same energy level as Gracie T-t. And it just may work. The cattery was loaded with females' This photobombed blip is of the 5 year old fella. The extra photo is a moving one of the young girl i will be trying out. She gets a 2 week trial.
Tomorrow I think I can pick her up.
