Deep in the Heart of Texas

I spent part of the afternoon at the Lady Bird Johnson Center for Wildflowers, outside Austin, Texas.  It must be spectacular in the Spring, Summer and Fall, but in January, not so much. Thankfully, there were a few plants that were confused and had some new blooms, like this Red Yucca....a little something different for Flower Friday.

I have not spent much time in Texas and have never been to Austin before.  It is capital of the state, the home of the University of Texas Longhorns and the site of the LBJ Presidential Library where I spent the other part of the afternoon.  It was another look at a fascinating period of history that I lived through as a teen.
