A Tribute to Seena Frost

Dear Diary,

Late yesterday I learned about the death of Seena Frost on Wednesday.  Seena was the creator of SoulCollage, a method of personal discernment through the creative process of photomontage.  I became trained as a facilitator two years ago and since then have enjoyed sharing this wonderful process with my friends.  It requires no artistic ability or knowledge, just an open heart.

As a contemplative photographer I know the power of images to awaken thoughts and memories through their metaphoric possibilities.  SoulCollage uses juxtaposition to enhance this process.  I have been trying to use my own photographs in my cards by creating them with a digital collage method.  The one above is made from parts of three photographs I made in Paris in 2012.  By putting the three images together they generate a new relationship and open up fresh channels of thought.

Seena Frost was a wonderful woman who gave me, and thousands of others world-wide, a new vehicle of self-expression and I am forever grateful to her.
