First lesson of the online photography course myself and several other Blippers have signed up for.  Exposure Compensation.  The project was to take a white on white or black on black photograph in auto and again in manual utilising your camera's exposure compensation.

I'm not 100% sure I have got the exposure correct in the above photograph, but there is certainly a marked improvement from the photography take in Auto setting (picture in extra).

If this lesson has taught me anything it's that I don't actually own a lot of white shit, the Polo mints had to be purchased in.
