RBL Gloucestershire AGM

Attended the Gloucestershire RBL AGM today for the first time, Quite a lot of ceremony involved including the Standards from around the County, and the Gloucestershire Standard of course, being paraded as in the main photo. There were prayers for the falling and injured service personnel, the Queen etc. and the poem for the fallen;
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

by Robert Binyon and also the Kohima Epitaph which is carved on the memorial of the 2nd British Division in the cemetery of Kohima, North East India. The Royal Gloucestershire Regiment was heavily involved and fought against insurmountable odds.
'When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say,
For Your Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today.'

The Extra photo is the 5 Riders Branch members that attended, including myself on the left. I have to say that I was the only one that arrived on a bike!! Phil and Julie (on the right) did have a lot of equipment and merchandise to carry so they had to come by car.
