Good day eventually.
Today has been a strange day. We only (just) managed to do half the things we had planned but it has still been quite successful. I was unable to spray the wood with preservative as I couldn't get the right filters for my mask - the spray is toxic so couldn't do it without them.
Dad had a nightmare moving the sink from the kitchen to the garage. At one point we had water leaking from everywhere and we had to do a mad dash to the hardware store five minutes before it closed to get some new fittings. It didn't help that the water wouldn't turn off properly at the stopcock - at one point I thought we might end up with a flooded kitchen and garage. It may have taken longer than he planned, but Dad did good in the end and it's all sorted. Thanks Dad you are the best!
Dad and Stu have also discovered the reason the walls upstairs are so wet is due to dodgy guttering and not the join between out house and next door. This is good news as it should be sorted once the new roof and guttering are fitted.
Stu has also removed more plaster upstairs revealing the old door between the two bedrooms. It's quite cool and gave me ideas of a walk in wardrobe - I have realised I'm getting carried away but one can dream!
I have been less productive and mainly watched people and burnt stuff to keep warm.
