The View From the Afternoon
I met my friend Mary at the Botanics this afternoon after work. Reeeally chilly day and we had planned to get a cup of tea in the cafe before having a wander, but as usual it was packed, so we had to make do with a takeaway cup from the coffee bar at the East Gate.
I like this view from outside the Terrace Cafe as you can see so many of Edinburgh's famous landmarks - in this photo you can make out St Giles, a snowdusted Arthur's Seat, New College, The Hub, and the Balmoral clock. It would've been better if I'd moved over a bit, but I wasn't really intending to make that the focus of the photo at the time!
My extra photos today are of a cat hoping to find enlightenment under a tree in the Botanics, and the boathouse on the canal. It was frozen over this morning, and on my way home it had started to snow a on top of the ice. Brr!
